National Flax Museum in Courtrai (Nationaal Vlasmuseum)

This region is a well-known center for flax production, having optimal soil and weather conditions. The museum is housed in an old flax farm, covers all the stages of flax production, and features an impressive lace exhibit.

Irish Linen Centre & Lisburn Museum

The display on 17th century flax cultivation has demonstrations on spinning and weaving and examples of the finest Irish linens.

Linen Museum (Museo del Lino)

Started by volunteer flax enthusiasts in the 1970s, this museum follows the production of flax from seed to linen. It also has an excellent display of tools. 

The House of Linen in Routot

This museum focuses on flax fiber use in ancient cultures as well as its importance to modern economy. 

Rumsiskes National Open Air Museum (Lietuvos liaudies buities muziejus)

The only open-air museum on this list, this display includes 80 buildings and workshops. It has a fine exhibit of unique Lithuanian linen articles. 

Upyte Linen Museum

This museum is housed in an 1880 windmill. Visitors can try their hand at spinning and weaving flax themselves!

Bruckbach Hoarstub'n Flax Museum (Freilichtmuseum Bruckbacher Hoarstub'n)
